The Baja 1000 is coming to Los Cabos in a format the legendary desert race has never used before.
SCORE International has revealed the official route for the 59th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000: a 964.66-mile Cabo-to-Cabo course starting and finishing in San José del Cabo and running entirely within Baja California Sur.
Race week is scheduled for November 9–15, with the race itself starting Friday, November 13 from Avenida Centenario in San José del Cabo. Motorcycles are scheduled to leave at 1:00 a.m. Pacific time, followed by cars, trucks and UTVs at 9:00 a.m.
A first for the Baja 1000
SCORE says this will be the first Baja 1000 held entirely within Baja California Sur. The course travels through some of the state’s most recognizable landscapes and communities, including Los Barriles, San Juan de Los Planes, El Centenario, Cerro del Mechudo, Loreto and San José de Comondú before returning south.
That gives the 2026 race a distinctly Baja Sur identity and puts San José del Cabo at the center of both the start and finish.
What Los Cabos should expect
The event will bring race teams, support crews, media and fans into the region for a full week. Pre-running opens October 31; qualifying takes place November 10, followed by registration and technical inspection November 11–12.
For residents, the route and race-week logistics will matter as November approaches. Road access, spectator areas and local traffic plans should be checked against official SCORE and municipal announcements closer to race day.
For visitors, this is a rare opportunity to see one of Baja’s defining sporting events begin and end in Los Cabos.
