President Claudia Sheinbaum arrived in Cabo San Lucas last night for her first official visit as Mexico’s new leader. Her arrival marks the beginning of critical discussions with state and city officials on key issues impacting the region.
One of the primary topics on her agenda is the development of 7,000 affordable homes. This ambitious project is intended to provide safe housing options for residents living in flood-prone areas near arroyos and to support seniors, single mothers, and young couples priced out of the current market. These new homes represent a crucial step toward addressing the region’s growing housing needs.
President Sheinbaum will also address Baja California Sur’s ongoing water scarcity challenges. She plans to review solutions, including additional dams and desalination plants, to ensure a reliable water supply for the state’s communities.
We are excited to welcome President Sheinbaum to Los Cabos and are hopeful that her visit will bring meaningful advancements on these vital issues. Welcome to our beautiful state, Claudia!

Stay tuned for the official updates that will outline the scope of these projects and other initiatives President Sheinbaum will bring to our city. We’re thrilled to welcome her leadership and look forward to the progress ahead!
