Día de Muertos returns to Los Cabos this fall with a growing calendar of celebrations stretching from late October through November 2.
Early listings on the official Los Cabos tourism calendar include Catrinas Night on October 29, followed by Día de Muertos programming around November 1 and 2, including brunch and bazaar-style events and a November 2 celebration at AGUA.
More than a themed party
For visitors, Día de Muertos is an opportunity to experience one of Mexico’s most meaningful traditions, but it is important to understand the holiday beyond its visual symbols. Families traditionally honor relatives and friends who have died through ofrendas, photographs, candles, marigolds and favorite foods, creating a connection between remembrance and celebration.
Los Cabos adds its own resort, restaurant and community programming to the national observance. San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas typically see special dinners, altars, art and Catrina-inspired events, while hotels increasingly build cultural programming around the dates.
