Los Cabos is shaped by far more than resorts and new construction. Behind the destination’s growth is a network of chefs, hoteliers, developers, artists, conservationists, entrepreneurs and community leaders whose decisions influence how Cabo looks, tastes, grows and lives.
That is the idea behind The Cabo Magazine’s new Who’s Who in Cabo editorial series: reported profiles of the people making a measurable contribution to Los Cabos right now.
Not a popularity list
This is not intended to be a ranking of Cabo’s richest, most famous or most photographed residents. Influence in Los Cabos takes many forms. It can be a chef helping define modern Baja cuisine, a hospitality leader changing the guest experience, an architect influencing desert design, a conservationist protecting marine resources, or a community organizer improving daily life outside the resort corridor.
Los Cabos is unusual because several worlds meet here at once. Cabo San Lucas remains an international tourism and sportfishing center. San José del Cabo has developed a distinct culinary, art and design identity. The Tourist Corridor continues to attract major hospitality and residential investment, while communities from the East Cape to Todos Santos are navigating their own versions of rapid growth.
Who we’re looking at
The final Who’s Who collection will draw from several areas:
- Hospitality: people influencing hotels, resorts and the luxury travel experience.
- Food & Drink: chefs, restaurateurs and producers changing the way Cabo eats.
- Real Estate & Design: developers, architects and designers shaping the built environment.
- Culture: artists, gallery leaders and creative voices strengthening the region’s identity.
- Conservation: people working on oceans, wildlife, water and the Baja environment.
- Community: civic, nonprofit and business leaders whose work has a meaningful local impact.
What earns a place in the series
We will look beyond visibility and social-media following. The editorial criteria are tangible impact, original work, relevance to Los Cabos, longevity or momentum, and a meaningful connection to the community.
That also means the list may include people visitors do not immediately recognize. Some of Cabo’s most consequential work happens away from the spotlight—in kitchens, construction meetings, conservation programs, studios, neighborhood organizations and local businesses.
A Cabo that is still being written
The timing matters. Los Cabos is in another period of significant change. New luxury hotels and residential communities continue to arrive, infrastructure is under pressure, the culinary scene is expanding, wellness tourism is growing and the region’s cultural identity is becoming an increasingly important part of how the destination presents itself internationally.
The people navigating those changes deserve more than a name in a list. Over the coming weeks, The Cabo Magazine will publish individual profiles and conversations before bringing the reporting together into our 2026 Who’s Who in Cabo feature.
