Los Cabos International Film Festival 2024 (Post-Event Recap)

The Los Cabos International Film Festival 2024 delivered a dazzling week of cinematic brilliance, unforgettable moments, and cultural celebration from December 4–8. Set against the breathtaking landscapes of Baja California Sur, this year’s festival was a testament to the power of storytelling, bringing together the best of Mexican and international cinema.

An Event to Remember

Held across stunning venues like Cinemex Puerto Paraíso, Hotel El Ganzo, El Jetty, Plaza Mijares, Crania and the Sculpture Garden in Puerto Los Cabos, each location added its own unique charm to the festival. Whether under the stars at an open-air screening or immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of Hotel El Ganzo, the festival created unforgettable cinematic experiences for attendees.

Exceptional Films and Stellar Talent

The festival’s lineup was nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing world-class films and talent. Highlights included:

• Better Man, the heartfelt biopic of pop legend Robbie Williams, directed by Michael Gracey.
• Maria, a stunning portrayal of opera diva Maria Callas by Angelina Jolie, which left audiences in awe.
• Limonov: The Ballad of Eddie, a provocative biopic of Russian poet Eduard Limónov by Kirill Serebrennikov.
• La Raya, a touching tale from Mexican director Yolanda Cruz, blending folklore and emotional depth.
• Una Historia de Amor y Guerra, a dramatic and humorous exploration of political upheaval by Santiago Mohar Volkow.
• No Nos Moverán, a gripping story of justice and revenge with a masterful performance by Luisa Huertas.

This year also celebrated Mexican cinema with the Sin Fronteras Award, honoring the incredible talents of Melissa Barrera and Manuel García Rulfo, who continue to inspire and elevate Mexican storytelling on the global stage.
