Cabo Real Golf Club is part of the earlier generation of courses that established the Tourist Corridor as a serious golf destination. Robert Trent Jones II designed the course to use the natural transition between coastal-facing terrain and the foothills behind the corridor. The scenery shifts through the round, but the Sea of Cortés remains an important visual reference.

Because Cabo Real offers public and resort access, it works well for golfers who are staying elsewhere and want a centrally located corridor round. It also gives real-estate shoppers a useful point of comparison with the newer, more private golf communities surrounding it.
