Mexican handicrafts have been part of our culture since ancient times. They are a living reflection of the identity of the Mexican people and one of the clearest symbols of who we are as a nation.
The origins of Mexican craftsmanship go back to pre-Hispanic civilizations such as the Maya, Aztecs, and Zapotecs, who developed advanced techniques in pottery, weaving, and goldsmithing using clay, natural fibers, and precious metals. With the arrival of the Spanish, these traditions blended with European and Asian influences. Even so, traditional techniques were preserved and refined over generations, resulting in the rich diversity of regional styles that we still admire today.
And yes, this culture is still alive.
It lives in the hands of those who continue to create well-made, handcrafted pieces with patience, passion, and pride.
Do you remember?
When almost nothing was made of plastic…
Shoes were leather.
Shirts were cotton, wool, or silk.
Jugs were made of clay or quality glass, not plastic.
At The Cabo Magazine, we continue to bet on local creators, artisanal work, and quality over mass production. And if some processes are automated, we still believe they should respect design, craft, and human value behind each piece.
Because what is made in Mexico is well made.✨
